New York - Night Time in Times Square

4_image001.jpg

Have you always wanted to know how to properly expose night photos? How to use rear curtain sync? Or how to subtly mix fill flash with ambient light? This workshop is your opportunity. Saturday May 16, 2009 @ 4pm - Midnight, the class will meet in the late afternoon to view samples and discuss the basics of night photography and long exposure. Pre-dusk we travel to Times Square to scout the location before magic hour, at the end of day when you get good sunset light and when the lights of Broadway and Times Square really start to pop against a darkening sky. We’ll shoot the hustle and bustle, the illuminated billboards, and those classic NYC Taxi photographs with trailing tail lights. Following the shoot we’ll catch a late dinner along with an ad hoc critique of your photos. Don’t miss this opportunity to join award–winning photographer John Bentham as he leads a class into the jaws of one of the best photography locations in the world.
